Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 28th September 2023 – Amprex Racing Services, distributor of Rotax kart engines in Malaysia, Brunei and Vietnam; and promoter of Rotax MAX Challenge Asia Trophy, is excited to announce the second edition of the Rotax MAX Challenge Asia Festival 2024 (RMCAF) which is a flagship International RMC event.
The 1st edition of RMCAF 2022 was memorably held at sunny MORAC Adventure Park, Langkawi, Malaysia from December 9th to 11th 2022.
To elevate the 2nd edition of RMCAF 2024 to the next level, this race will be held at Sepang International Karting Circuit (SIKC), Malaysia from 26th to 28th January 2024. This circuit was designed by the world-renowned architect Hermann Tilke, the track features distinctive designs that is reflective of the Formula 1 Sepang International Circuit. This particular karting track allows ample opportunities for overtaking, ensuring a race full of suspense and thrills.
Due to its unique location, SIKC is strategically located 14km away from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and is a 45-minute drive (60km) from most major cities, especially from Kuala Lumpur’s city centre. The circuit is accessible via the modern North-South Expressway, railway links, and a network of highways.
The Rotax Team is already in full progress for the preparation of the event in time to host RMCAF 2024.
Amprex Racing Services will be the proud promoter and organiser of the RMCAF, as they aspire to grow this event into annually the most prestigious international karting event in the South East Asia (SEA) region.
RMCAF 2024 is aiming to attract many international race teams and drivers again from the SEA region and from the Oceania Pacific region, East Asia, the Middle East and European regions, with entrants having one sole purpose in mind; to be crown as the champion of their respective categories and to secure the coveted tickets to the RMC Grand Finals (RMCGF) 2024.
Six Rotax powered engine categories make up the race program at the RMCAF 2024:
- Rotax 125 Micro MAX Evo with 5 hp
- Rotax 125 Mini MAX Evo with 13 hp
- Rotax 125 Junior MAX Evo with 23 hp
- Rotax 125 Senior MAX Evo with 30 hp
- Rotax 125 Senior MAX Evo Masters with 30hp
- Rotax 125 MAX DD2 Masters with 34 hp and 2-speed gearbox
The RMCAF is based on a “one-make-engine” formula, where only technically scrutineered and sealed (for quality performance) Rotax kart engines and the Rotax regulation standard MOJO racing tyres will be used. Talented drivers from around the world can compete at the same level within their classes, where it is mainly the driving skills that make the difference for victory.
Selective category winners of the RMCAF event will be awarded with tickets to the RMCGF 2024. Following categories that are entitled to win tickets to RMCGF are:
- Rotax 125 Micro MAX
- Rotax 125 Mini MAX
- Rotax 125 Junior MAX
- Rotax 125 Senior MAX
- Rotax 125 MAX DD2 MAX Masters
What is even more enticing for category winners of RMCAF will be additionally entitled to win the Grand Prix cash pool price totalling RM400,000 (approximately EUR80,000). With a massive Grand Prix purse to entice entrants to participate in the signature race event of the year will ensure RMCAF is even more special and memorable for everyone in years to come.
